TOFU Sisig is an easy recipe to cook or make. It's perfect for vegetarians and delicious for any occasion. If cooked the same way, there is no difference between pork sisig and tofu sisig.
Ingredients:
▢ Tofu sliced into small cubes
▢1 canned tuna
▢ Oyster Sauce
▢1 medium yellow onion chopped or at least 2 red onions
▢2 long green peppers chopped
▢ Onion leaves
▢ Mayonaise
▢ 1 pc Egg
▢ 1 tbsp butter
▢ Liquid Seasoning
▢1 1/2 cups cooking oil
▢ Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
▢ Heat oil in a pan.
▢ Once the oil gets hot, deep-fry the cubed tofu until crispy.
▢ Remove from the pan and strain.
▢ Put it in a container with paper towels to drain excess oil. Set aside.
▢ Saute onions in butter, but others prefer fresh onion on their Tofu Sisig
▢ Toss fried tofu and add salt, pepper, and liquid seasoning. to taste
▢ Put canned tuna and mix
▢ Add mayonnaise, and stir until all the ingredients are well blended.
▢ Add egg and green peppers then mix well
▢ Transfer to a serving plate. Serve with a dipping sauce composed of soy sauce, calamansi, and crushed chili peppers.
